Audio Visual Innovations, Inc. (AVI) began operations in 1979 and Signal Perfection Ltd. (SPL) in 1992. Both organisations quickly became respected as the leaders in audio, video and collaborative communication solutions.

Supported by equity financing from Silver Lake Sumeru, AVI-SPL is a result of a merger in 2008 between these two AV system integrators. AVI-SPL has over 1,200 staff, 43 offices in the US and clients including American Airlines, IBM and Microsoft.
